  • Miss Vicky

Anne-Victoire Monrozier (Miss Vicky to her friends) is a native Parisian who spent the first part of her career pursuing various high-powered roles in marketing and PR. • The Uncommon

Some believed English wine would never be good enough. Some still believe great wines should not be canned. With growing conditions similar to Champagne 50 years ago and the evolution of new technology, Uncommon knew it was the perfect time to push England’s young wine industry into new territory; bringing you award-winning wines in unexpected ways. The can is just the start!

  • Kiss Of Wine

The Kiss of Wine team have taken the category by the horns and established a state of the art canning facility in Berlin, from which they receive parcels of wine from across Europe. The growers they work with are all boutique, sustainable and focussed on making wines with a real sense of place. The result is a dynamic range of wines, taking in Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

  • Joiy

Cath and Chris have been working with wine for as long as they can remember but ditched glass bottles in favour cans back in 2018 - a brave and pioneering stance at a such nascent stage for the can category. For them, wine is a part of everyday life to enjoy whenever, wherever. Why JOIY? They put the ‘i’ in ‘joy’ in homage to the old saying “joie de vivre” – the joy of everyday living.

  • Skinny Tinny

Abi was born and raised in Birmingham in the UK. Her love of wine started at a fairly young age, having been influenced by her dad, an avid collector of eclectic wines. Skinny Tinny has been created for people who care about their health, care about the way their products were made and how best to dispose of them. Just 8.5% ABV and therefore 30% lower in calories than 250ml of a regular white wine.

  • Hey Tomorrow

It's time to think inside the box. Husband & wife team Shane and Sacha are restaurant operators who decided to combine their close relationships with some of Australia’s coolest boutique producers with the growing Bag in Box craze. Koerner Bros, Lethbridge & Lowboi all star in the first ever consignment to have graced UK shores. Super sharp packaging and terrific wines!

  • Laylo

Laura and Laura (yes, really) met whilst working at Naked Wines and falling in love with all kinds of wines from around the world. They have breathed new life into what had become a distinctly staid category.

ARGENTINA

  • The Rolland Collection

We are thrilled to be working the Rolland family. It’s fair to say that few consultants have had a more profound effect on winemaking styles across the world over the last two decades than Michel and his wife Dany. Yacochuya is where their love affair with Argentina began, following a brief by the Etchart family to help them with their high altitude estate, boasting vines planted in the 1920's. Mariflor is the culmination of that affair and is part of the Clos de Siete project, on which the Rollands joined forces with other Bordeaux luminaries to create an Argentinean icon.

  • living roots winery

    Living Roots

Living Roots is a winery in both the Finger Lakes (NY) and the Adelaide Hills (Aus), yes really. This is a logistical challenge for any importer, but one that we’re rising to at Propeller - the Aussies are here and the NY wines are en route. Living Roots was founded in 2016 but their legacy began six generations back with Thomas Hardy (yes, that one), Seb’s great-great-great grandfather.

  • Mystic Spring

From wine merchants by royal appointment in Austria in the 1380s, to proud custodians of this 60 hectare estate in the Gunyulgup Valley in Yallingup, the Haunold family is something of an enigma. In 2008 highly acclaimed Australian wine critic, James Halliday awarded Wills Domain the coveted “Red” 5 e star rating in his annual guide.

CANADA

  • Creekside

Creekside has been doing its premium thing on the Niagara Peninsula since 1997, beginning as a small winery with 11 acres under vine. Over the years this determined little winery expanded its vineyards to include its premium red growing site, Queenston Road Vineyard, located in the St. David’s Bench. The winery, located in Jordan, has become a wine-lover’s destination, located slightly off the beaten path, but still in the heart of Niagara wine country

  • Lakeview

In 1986, The Gurinskas Vineyard was created from a 13 acre fruit farm on the Beamsville Bench as a retirement project by medal-winning amateur winemaker Eddy Gurinskas and his wife Lorraine. We're kicking off our collaboration with their Ice Wine - and reckon it's the best value example currently available in the UK.

  • Lightfoot & Wolfville

Lightfoot & Wolfville is a Demeter-certified biodynamic winery located in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, between the town of Wolfville and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Grand Pré. Their focus is on cool-climate wines that speak of their origin, including traditional method sparkling wines, aromatic whites, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We love their packaging almost as much as the wines!

CHILE

  • Polkura

Founded by friends Sven Bruchfield & Gonzalo Munoz in 2002 after they had both travelled widely around Europe studying winemaking, intending to establish their property. A glass of Syrah with some lamb in a café in Narbonne proved to be the inspiration for Polkura, recognised now as one of the pre-eminent producers of the variety in Chile. At 12ha Polkura is by far the largest winery in MOVI

  • La Recova

David Giacomini is Brazilian but moved to Chile in his 20’s to finish his studies as an Industrial Engineer. Soon after obtaining his first job as a trainee engineer in a large Chilean multi-national company, he applied for a mortgage to buy La Recova, a plot that he’d long admired but which at the time was just (in his words) a ‘savage hill’. He was successful, but on his entry-level salary he couldn’t pay the mortgage and rent a flat in the city, so he built a house at La Recova instead, taking Route 68 every day back and forth to the office. He still makes his wine out of a collection of shipping containers, but it remains one of Chile's finest Sauvignon's.

  • Maurizio Garibaldi

Maurzio’s grandfather emigrated from Italy after World War I and arrived in Valpariso at the age of 16 with little more than his wits to sustain him. In the ensuing years he established a number of businesses before buying a vineyard in Colchagua. His son joined the enterprise in 1952, having studied enology back in Alba, Italy. They made wines together until 1973 when the Chilean government confiscated the land following the coup d’etat that brought General Augusto Pinochet to power. Maurizio's rejuvenation of that legacy has not been lost on the critics, both these wines are incredibly good!

  • Nerikhue Propellers producer from Chile, sat in a vineyard

    Nerikhue

Nerkihue (pronounced ne-reh-key-way) is a family winery located in Lolol, Colchagua Valley. Its vineyards grow on steep slopes that, together with the marine influence and shallow soils, give rise to aromatic, fresh, and supremely elegant wines.

ENGLAND

  • Folc

Founded in 2019 by couple Elisha Rai and Tom Cannon, folc started life during England’s first taste of ‘lockdown life’; a time when we were all forced to pause and find joy in small pleasures; a walk in the park, a late summer picnic. More than ever, we realised the importance of cherished loved ones, of family and friends, and local support.

CHINA

  • Xige Estate

Ningxia, an autonomous region located in the centre of Northern China, has seen huge investment from the Chinese government, which has elevated a previously poor, remote area into one of the world’s most dynamic regions for fine wine production. An egg shape complex called Xige in Chinese, and informally known as Pigeon Hill in English, has risen from the dusty fields of Ningxia. Residents of those windswept plains have witnessed inspiring blueprints transform into a sprawling winery nestled within a curved stone wall.

FRANCE

  • Domaine Pichard

The family-owned business is managed by Rod Cork (surely a strong contender for the best name in winemaking), Rod became the co-owner of Domaine Pichard in 2005 and has pushed the Domaine forward with great passion. The sun-drenched vineyards of Domaine Pichard stretch across 23 hectares of dramatic rolling hillside in Madiran, the heart of southern France. • Miss Vicky

Anne-Victoire Monrozier (Vicky to her friends) is a native Parisian who spent the first part of her career pursuing various high-powered roles in marketing and PR. Sustainability and the environment are at the heart of Vicky’s ethos, and her new canned format (see the Alt Format section) dramatically reduces impact on the world around us without any compromise on taste or quality whilst also being practical and lightweight.

  • The Rolland Collection

Originally Michel and Dany Rolland bought Chateau Fontenil as a weekend get-away from their house in bustling, downtown Bordeaux. Consequently they didn't really anticipate making wine there, but the temptation proved too hard to resist, and in doing so they've elevated the profile of Fronsac as a whole.

  • Angel Champagne

Angel began life in LA, Miami and London’s top nightclubs and at one time boasted none other than Mariah Carey as its US Brand Ambassador. Now under English ownership Angel is taking a more considered strategy into luxury retail and is enjoying astronomical success in Japan and China. Made under the watchful eye of Elizabeth Sarcelet.

  • Champagne Taisne Riocour

Taisne-Riocour is a new venture by the historic Les Riceys grape-growing family, the De Taisne. Founded in 1837, grapes were traditionally sold to big houses for their blended cuvées. In 2014, the family decided to bottle their own wines for the first time to highlight the character of their vineyards.

  • Bonnay

Bonnay's origin is the famed commune of Puligny Montrachet. On its gently sloping stony terroir we meet Aurélien, a 6th generation wine maker with a reputation for producing a quality of wines that have become the reference point for wine lovers and growers alike. Each autumn, Aurélien’s grapes are harvested exclusively by hand with only the richest and most complex first presses being retained. The resulting wine is aged in barrels on racks for between 12 and 18 months in his cellar, just the same way generations of his family have done for the past 124 years.

  • Rombeau

Domaine de Rombeau is renowned for the excellence of its traditional Languedoc-Roussillon wines, its organic wines, its natural sweet wines such as Rivesaltes and Muscat de Rivesaltes as well as its sparkling wines. • Mont Verrier

Located in the south of the great Burgundy wine region, equidistant between Lyon and Mâcon, Domaine du MontVerrier has an ancient history ; it bears witness to the close links forged over the centuries between two prestigious appellations : Burgundy and Beaujolais. The history of the estate is closely associated with that of the Hospices de Villefranche and the nuns from the Sainte Marthe de Beaune “Hospitalier” order.

ITALY

  • Cantina Goccia

Umbria gave birth to this unique vineyard and their vision is to create extraordinary wines whose characters strongly represent their origin, whilst embracing the latest innovation and research.

PORTUGAL

  • House Of Beja

House of Beja is more than just an Alentejano wine: it encapsulates the character and soul of this wine region and is synonymous with the Portuguese way of life — good food, good wine, love and tradition. This is proudly a Propeller project. We’ve teamed up with an amazing producer to produce a vehicle for barrels and tanks that don't quite make it into their 'grandes vins'. The resulting value for money is pretty extraordinary!

  • Quinta Do paral

Situated around the village of Vidigueira, Quinta do Paral comprises 102 hectares of mature vineyards, olive groves and cork oaks. The estate was owned by the Count of Palma and the Countess of Santar until 2017 when it was acquired by German businessman Dieter Morszeck, realising his dream to own a top flight wine estate. One of the estate’s greatest assets is the wealth of old vine material with an average age of 45 years.

SOUTH AFRICA

  • Rascallion

Ross Sleet launched Rascallion in 2018 with the aim of creating a collection of brands that were daring, unconventional, and centred on blends inspired by his travels in Southern France and the Iberian peninsula. Rascallion is wholly (and unashamedly) a négociant business, which leaves Ross and his consultant winemaker Rianie Strydom able to freely source wine to incredibly exacting standards and specifications, from Stellenbosch, the Swartland, Darling, Robertson and Piekenierskloof.

SPAIN

  • Bigardo

The Toro-born Kiko Calvo travelled around the world working in wineries before returning home to make his artisan, small production "rebellious" wine from his great-grandfather's vineyards. A very different TORO. Less oak, less extract, more freshness. With his father in the vineyards and sister by his side, Kiko is quickly becoming a Toro legend. He follows his way of doing things, nonconformist with no boundaries and an insatiable appetite to experiment and explore the limits of his great-grandfathers' vineyards. He is already pushing the boundaries of the region of Toro and has only just begun!

  • Botas De Barro

For over 20 years, Nicola Thornton, originally from Sheffield, has created an amazing network of farmers and winemakers throughout Spain. Many of those growers felt disgruntled about being taken advantage of by larger producers and weren’t getting paid decent wages for their crops. She said they’d often tell the younger generations not to get into viticulture because it was a tough life for little reward. Botas de Barro ('dirty boots') aims to turn that tide; a multi-regional vehicle for old vine fruit from some of Spain's unsung heroes.

  • Canopy

    Canopy

Founded in 2004 by Belarmino Fernandez and Alfonso Chacon, Canopy has (quite unassumingly) played a significant role in helping the wider world to appreciate what the ‘New Spain’ is capable of – Michel Bettane even went so far as to acknowledge them as ‘architects of the Spanish renassiance’. Belarmino and Alfonso are self-confessed ‘terroir obsessives’, driven by a desire to bottle the unique characteristics of their little corner of Sierra de Gredos.

  • Citizen

We are delighted to be working with Citizen Wines. Set up by a close-knit group of industry experts they hope to breathe some much-needed life into an all-too-often rigid and stuffy wine sector, by bringing innovative new approach to wine making and marketing. They only work with producers that are fully committed to sustainability, sourcing wines that are sustainably grown and organically produced.

  • Des Andres Sisters

Ruth de Andres trained as a Chemist in Sheffield and was just about to embark on her PhD when she realised that she couldn’t bear the thought of spending another chunk of her life in a lab, so she returned to Spain and quickly fell in love with winemaking. She studied there, then moved to Bordeaux where she completed her degree and worked Pascal Ribéreau-Gayon and Michel Rolland at Chateau Pape Clement. Returning to Spain once again she began a five year stint with Bodegas Torres before going on to manage a number of boutique wineries and then launched Aleavini with her sister Ana.

  • Garcia De Lara

Miguel Garcia de Lara and his brothers and sisters are slowly reviving their historic, century-old family vineyards and winery, whilst all their neighbours are uprooting their vineyards to plant other things. The family’s undeniably boutique project centres on their ancient Cencibel (Tempranillo) and Airen vineyards. Bush vines are stretched to their limits by the harsh, extreme climate in Toledo, bordering Madrid, where summers are very hot and dry, leading to intense flavours.

  • Vera Des Estenas

Estenas was founded in 1945 by Francisco Martínez Bermell. He subsequently became one of the most revered winemakers in Spain and was elected honorary president of the Spanish Association of Oenologists, after being president for two terms (8 years) and vice-president of the International Wine Organization (OIV) Vera de Estenas became the first Valencian winery to cultivate and elaborate varieties such as Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as pioneering Bobal.

  • Tr3smano

José Ramón Ruiz-Gómez, Fernando Remírez de Ganuza and Pedro Aibar are the driving forces behind the Tresmano project. The individual contributions they've made to the Spanish wine scenes over their long careers are already remarkable, but channelling all that talent into their own winery was always going to create waves.

  • La Bascula

La Bascula is the brainchild of Englishman Ed Adams MW and South African winemaker Bruce Jack. La Bascula focus on wines from all over Spain but the focal point is their Organic Sustainable Terra Alta producers. Le Bascula work with the same producers each year and create their own bespoke blends with them, the emphasis is always on using indigenous Spanish grape varieties

USA

  • Crosby / Norton Ridge

Plato once said, kind of, that ‘necessity is the mother of invention’. Delicious, good value Californian wine probably wasn’t considered in ‘Republic’, but it was certainly considered by the buyers of New York in the late 1990’s. They wanted benchmark, varietally correct Californian wines they could sell in their stores and restaurants. They also needed them to compete price-wise with the big brands they all knew and despised. It was from this 'need' that the Crosby and Norton Ridge brands were born

UKRAINE

  • Beykush

Beykush Winery is a family winery located on the shores of the Black Sea, in the village of Chernomorka, which is set in the Mykolaiv region. Their founder, Eugene Shneyderis, setup the winery in a pretty unique location: a peninsula, surrounded by water on three sides. • Villa Tinta

Vinhol Oksamitnoe (Villa Tinta) is a family estate and winery that was founded in 1998 in the village of Oksamitne, located in the Bolgradsky district, which is near Odesa on the Black Sea. As of 2022, Villa Tinta owns 550 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards sit in their own microclimate and are ideal for the ‘Ukrainian” grapes, Odessa Black and Sukholimansky, which account for a majority of their plantings.

  • Kolonist

Located on the same latitude line as Bordeaux, there is a Franco-Ukrainian winery that is producing incredibly high quality wines for the global consumer. The wines are produced in the Bessarabia region. The relatively small, privately owned vinery extends over 81 hectares, producing low yield but high quality wines.

  • Stakhovsky

As an elite athlete and world-famous tennis player, Sergiy Stakhovsky didn’t think wine had a place in his life. That is until he was offered a spot to play in the French Team Championship for the Bordeaux team, Villa Primrose. His time spent in Bordeaux began a life-changing experience of not only learning about wine from the terroir and the producers themselves but also learning to love wine as a wine consumer, something he’d not been previously.

  • Tanaka

We love a producer who does things differently … which is why Tanaka 1789 x Chartier was a natural choice to join our portfolio. The story began in Canada with François Chartier, a wine industry veteran, former World’s Best Sommelier and ‘aroma specialist’ who was inspired to bring the art of blending to the sake breweries of Japan after a visit to the Tanaka brewery in 2018.
